Can/Could表请求/允许的用法情态动词can/could构成的句型可用于向对方委婉地提出请求或征求对方的许可。它们本身不能作谓语,只能和动词原形一起构成谓语。

无论是“Couldyou(please)...?”还是“CouldI...?”,问句中的could都可用can来代替,但是could更委婉。且答语中一般都避免使用could来回答。注意
could的其他用法如下:(1)could为can的过去式,表示能力。Hecouldrideabikeattheageoffive.他五岁时就会骑自行车了。拓展
(2)表示可能性,指对过去、现在或将来的某种可能的推测。ThebookcouldbeLily’sbecauseshelikesreadingbooks.那本书可能是莉莉的,因为她喜欢看书。(3)表示建议。Youcouldgotherebybus.你可以乘公共汽车去那儿。
